It depends on your preferences; our PVC (faux wood) blinds tend to be more affordable, whereas wooden blinds are better at retaining household heat and have longer lifespans. PVC blinds are better at resisting water, so are useful in kitchens and bathrooms, but both types are comparatively low maintenance. Talk to our consultants about your requirements and we’ll help you decide.
On average, you can expect wooden blinds to last around 7-8 years. This isn’t the upper limit though; if you make a habit of maintaining and cleaning them, they can last longer. We’ve seen examples that have lasted almost twice as long as that.
Wood naturally absorbs water and can experience issues because of it, but we treat our wooden blinds to make them as resistant as possible. You shouldn’t experience any issues, but we would recommend using faux wood blinds in bathrooms, kitchens or anywhere with a higher rate of water vapour.
